Where the juggernaut “New England Legends” tells quick “souvenir shop” versions of various folklore stories, this podcast focuses more on presenting the folklore they select, as “scary”, by-the-fireside versions - which I enjoy a lot more.
Slightly longer in length, great dramatizations, and one narrator instead of two, also helps differentiate between the two similar-in-theme programs. While I do like the other show a lot too, I really want “Local Legends: New England” to succeed and continue ... more
The stories so far are great listening, and the follow-up episodes provide some fun insight into those stories. Highly recommended for those who enjoy some spooky/historical stories.
