  • Non-partisan?

The topics, guests, and discussions are interesting and well conducted. However, I’m struggling to see how you can describe your show as non-partisan — the bias is quite obvious.

  • Not a “return to reason”

If you believe in climate change, and everything else that’s logical and ethical, this is not the podcast for you. Canada can do much better without this particular “leader”.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Canada's Economy Is Flatlining, Here's Why | Curt Vossen
Q: What about the U.S. relationship and the risk of annual renegotiations?
Long-term, predictable access to the U.S. market is crucial; frequent renegotiations erode investment certainty and push firms to relocate or hedge away from Canada.
Canada's Economy Is Flatlining, Here's Why | Curt Vossen
Q: Is Canada generally a good place to do business today?
The guest argues that Canada has strong natural advantages but suffers from uncertainty, regulatory frictions, and the need for a stable, long-term investment climate to unlock private capital.
Why Your Grocery Bill Keeps Climbing
Q: What is your sense of how the current trade dynamic with the United States will unfold?
We should cope with Washington and focus on strengthening relationships with other regions (Asia-Pacific, Europe) while pursuing a managed, gradual transition away from protectionist structures toward an open-market framework that supports competitiveness and investment.
Why Your Grocery Bill Keeps Climbing
Q: How would you implement improvements to supply management to enable exports and openness?
Reform the pricing mechanisms through the Cane and Dairy Commission, increase transparency, create strategic reserves (but for dairy products beyond butter), selectively buy out non-competitive producers, and liberalize tariffs gradually to open doors for international markets within a long-term roadmap.
Why Your Grocery Bill Keeps Climbing
Q: So, if you were an advisor to the Prime Minister, what would your advice be?
Push for internal efficiencies, increase competition, reform the Cane and Dairy Commission for transparency, manage surpluses, consider buyouts of less competitive farmers, and create a pathway to export dairy products to growing global markets by gradually reducing tariffs over a 20-year horizon.

What is Leaders on the Frontier about and what kind of topics does it cover?

A policy-forward show anchored in Western Canadian perspectives, frequently hosting policy researchers, politicians, and legal analysts to dissect energy, trade, governance, and Indigenous rights within Canada.
