I am finding this whole podcast to be fascinating. Particularly struck by the most recent Oct episode with Dr David Leitner. His background in the military, in national strategy and corporate strategy, research, training and teaching brought a lot of gravitas to the subject. In the skillful questing and discussion the meaning and breadth of followership expanded for me. Highly highly recommend listening to this one and following the show altogether.
If you want to get a good grounding in the principles of leadership and followership. The show has you covered!
So grateful for our conversation with Sharna! I have enjoyed hearing about how others have engaged with the topics of leadership and followership and think continued exposure to the context of these topics are valuable to anyone who wants to be both a better leader and a collaborator!
For decades (perhaps centuries) it’s just been about the “great individual” - the leader. Sharna Fabiano and her guests are expanding the conversation and exploring the dynamics and interplay between leaders AND followers.

A candid, interdisciplinary take on teamwork, leadership, and the dynamics between leaders and followers. Across episodes, the show frequently discusses how followership contributes to effective leadership, with guests ranging from academics and educators to practitioners and artists, exploring practical methods to foster trust, psychological safety, and collaborative decision-making in organizations and communities. Notable is the recurring emphasis on interdependence, co-creation, and deconstructing the idea that leadership rests solely with individuals at the top. The format often blends theory with real-world stories, coaching insights, and community or workplace experiments that listeners can adapt to their own teams or initiatives.
