  • Love the 80% of Life is Just Showing Up episode!

Great work on this, Jan! I was impressed by that episode where you discussed making tough choices when figuring out if something is a "win or lose everything" situation, which is especially challenging for law firms with all the different marketing options. And I completely agree that while 80% of success is just being present and trying, the other 19% is all about trying, learning, and looking at data to get better at something. I never thought of that till now!

The AI Receptionist Is Here — And It's Doing Things Nobody Expected with Maddy Martin
Q: What should firms disclose about AI assistants to clients?
Disclosures are recommended but should be balanced and not overly technical; acknowledge AI presence without making every call about legal relationships, so clients feel guided rather than overwhelmed.

Q: How do you structure AI and human roles in a front-office workflow?
We use a hybrid model where AI handles initial intake and certain routine tasks, with a baton handoff to human receptionists for scheduling, complex qualification, or when the system can't complete a task, ensuring end-to-end workflows.

Adoption has jumped from curiosity to rapid decision-making, with firms actively implementing AI in intake, scheduling, and back-office tasks, while still valuing human oversight for complex or sensitive interactions.
