Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

004. The Mother Wound: How Olivia Amitrano Healed Generational Trauma and Found Self-Trust
Q: What was your relationship with your mom like when you were growing up?
It was emotionally tumultuous and highly caretaker-focused, with me taking on a motherly role early on to try to stabilize the family while also grappling with her depression and later neurodegenerative illness.
002. The Friendship Betrayal That Changed Everything with Danielle Robay
Q: What was the most transformative insight you gained from this experience?
That personal growth can drive professional growth, and that healing a deep wound can redefine how I show up in every area of life—from friendships to work—by embracing compassion, accountability, and a more balanced dynamic with others.
002. The Friendship Betrayal That Changed Everything with Danielle Robay
Q: What role did boundaries play in repairing the friendship, and how did you communicate them?
I learned to distinguish between boundaries and ultimatums. The key was to explain what I would do under certain conditions, such as requiring the ex-partner to be blocked to continue the friendship. This helped protect my emotional safety while allowing the relationship to potentially continue on a healthier footing.
002. The Friendship Betrayal That Changed Everything with Danielle Robay
Q: How did the betrayal unfold and what did you learn about the different parties involved?
I discovered her lying with my ex-boyfriend, which shattered my sense of trust. Through therapy and conversation, I learned that every party in a betrayal contributes to the outcome, including the injured partner, the partner who betrayed, and the outside party, and that understanding this helps in healing.
002. The Friendship Betrayal That Changed Everything with Danielle Robay
Q: OK. So why don't you start by telling me about the phase of your life you were in and what was going on with you when you met this friend?
I met Jessica at overnight camp in Wisconsin when I was ten, and even though there was a five-year age difference, her charisma and energy drew me in. We later reconnected in LA and our friendship grew into a major presence in my social world, giving me a sister-like figure and a sense of belonging.
