  • Needs a polish

Great content, love the behind the scenes talk with those in the industry that worked on my favourite films. But with the “talent” the hosts continuously goes on about I would of thought editing and production of the podcast would be a little better. Room for improvement but I’ll always be there for the next episode

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

EP 298 - Requiem for a Dream - Producer - Eric Watson
Q: How did you approach casting and building a crew in New York?
We prioritized strong New York actors and a tight, local crew, working with casting director Mary Vernoux and assembling a mix of indie stars to capture the film's authentic energy.
EP 298 - Requiem for a Dream - Producer - Eric Watson
Q: What were the biggest challenges in getting the film made and financed?
Financing was tough; we assembled a small, dedicated team, secured a mix of Artisans' support and Palmer West's investment, and made do with a shoestring budget while maintaining creative control, including stubbornly defending the NC-17 rating.
EP 298 - Requiem for a Dream - Producer - Eric Watson
Q: Tell me how the idea for Requiem for a Dream first came together and what sparked the decision to adapt it.
The idea crystallized when we found Selby's book, which resonated with us as a love story under its dark themes, and we immediately saw its potential as a film that could explore addiction through the lens of human longing.
EP 297 - Secrets of the Bees - Director Nadége Laici
Q: What changed for you personally during the making of this project?
Balancing motherhood and filmmaking taught me I can't do it all alone; the experience also deepened my commitment to wild bee conservation and rethinking human impacts on pollinators.
EP 297 - Secrets of the Bees - Director Nadége Laici
Q: What surprised you most about bees during production?
I learned there are over 20,000 bee species, and many behaviors we assumed were simple—like their defense against predators—are far more complex and fascinating.
