  • Good info but annoying

I wish these ladies would listen to the experts instead of constantly saying, “right” “yes” and “I was thinking”. In my opinion they consistently interrupt to the degree that the expert is not able to make their point. The content is lost with the interruptions. Geez, hold your thoughts and questions until they are finished with a sentence!

  • Tried really hard

I really wanted to like this podcast because the topic is right up my alley, but I could not handle the editing. There were so many sounds of acknowledgment during each interview which felt like an interruption of the guest. I just think it would be better to not make those sounds and use editing to get rid of any long silences that you were trying to cover? After listening to three episodes, I just couldn’t anymore. It was too frustrating.

  • Host interruptions

Cannot stand the host’s interruptions every 2 seconds. What would otherwise be an awesome podcast is ruined by the hosts themselves. Disappointing

Plants As Portals | Inside Botany of Nations Exhibit
Q: How does the concept of kincentricity shape the way you view plants and landscapes?
Kincentricity recognizes all relations—humans, plants, animals, and even objects—as kin; this perspective guides how communities steward land, plant seeds in ways that support long-term biodiversity, and share responsibility for future generations.
Plants As Portals | Inside Botany of Nations Exhibit
Q: What drew you to co-curate Botany of Nations with the Academy of Natural Sciences?
I was invited due to my background in ethnobotany and my work with Indigenous knowledge systems; the project aligned with my goal of bringing Indigenous perspectives to the forefront and reimagining how we interpret the Lewis and Clark expedition.
The Philadelphia Zoo | With Dr. Jo-Elle Mogerman, President & CEO of the Philadelphia Zoo
Q: What makes the Philadelphia Zoo different in its approach to conservation and public engagement?
The zoo positions itself as a storefront for conservation—bring science to life in accessible ways, connect visitors to animal stories (like Mommy and Jambi), and leverage partnerships with local communities and academic institutions to translate research into action.
The Philadelphia Zoo | With Dr. Jo-Elle Mogerman, President & CEO of the Philadelphia Zoo
Q: How did you come to lead the Philadelphia Zoo, and what unique path brought you here?
Her career blends biology, conservation, education, and community work, with leadership roles in major zoos across Chicago and St. Louis, culminating in being tapped to lead Philadelphia Zoo due to a track record of innovation, community engagement, and a strong focus on conservation.
Saving Sequoias | With Ben Blom and Save The Redwoods League
Q: What does a typical collaboration look like in the Giant Sequoia Lands Coalition?
The coalition includes 11 primary partners from tribal, federal, state, and local agencies, along with researchers and practitioners. We meet frequently—every couple of weeks—and hold an annual in-person gathering to align on science, threats, and field work, with a shared emphasis on reintroducing good fire.
