Stop putting entire radio commercial breaks in the podcast episodes. If I wanted to skip through the ads I would just listen to YouTube.

  • Remove J Hood everybody else in this show is phenomenal from Kap Shea

This is one of my favorite shows. I’ve been following cap for ever since WGN days and I love capping company when they took it away. It was a big mistake from the old bosses and they replaced it and put J hood in. NSR it’s one of my favorite shows in the morning and sometimes I have to listen to the other station because J Hood is not knowledgeable. He’s one-sided and if you argue with him or talk over him, he gets so sensitive and it seems like every time somebody passes. He just laughs away an... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

8/13: Under the Hood w/ J-Hood: Nick Friedell
Q: What do you think about the NBA's approach to the Christmas Day schedule and opening-night slate this season?
The hosts suggest the league is balancing a desire to maximize star participation with delivering compelling television, noting that three opening-night games may help compete with the NFL on Christmas while still prioritizing marquee matchups and star availability.
8/13: Under the Hood w/ J-Hood: Nick Friedell
Q: Nick, what was your initial reaction to the Lakers ownership news and the valuation around the deal?
The reaction is complex and cautious, recognizing the surface excitement of a high-profile sale but underscoring that the valuation and underlying finances require closer scrutiny, especially given the ongoing shifts in ownership groups and the potential long-term impact on the Lakers' brand and market position.
8/10 3 PM: The Gritty White Sox
Q: Mike from North Carolina asks about training camp injuries and whether offseason activity predisposes players to be more prone to injuries.
The hosts explain that injuries are common across the league, not uniquely tied to offseason work, and that camps are generally hard and injury-prone for many teams.
8/6 7AM: Tom Thayer
Q: What did you think about the newly minted Darnell Wright and his contract situation?
Thayer and hosts discuss Wright's progression, the impact of the contract on his development, and how the Bears' offensive line could benefit from consistent coaching and scheme.
7/31 7AM: Jesse Rogers
Q: What is the current read on Scoobel's availability and the teams that could realistically land him?
Jesse Rogers says the Dodgers are a favorite, but many teams including the Braves, Rays, Brewers, and Cubs are in the mix, with various top prospects involved and a strong preference for controllable pitchers rather than rental ones; the deal hinges on price and medicals.
