  • There’s good football talk but….

I can’t listen to Jurkos right wing politics, casual racism and homophobia anymore

  • Monotonous and Grating

How many Italian American Goodfellas jokes until it’s enough? Carmen’s stubbornness regarding certain topics makes the show impossible to enjoy. He mistakes his milquetoast surface level understanding of topics like analytics (for example) as gospel. And incorrectly applied these concepts way too often. Jurko’s humor can’t even save this show

  • Jurko is racist

When Jurko isn’t being a football meathead, he’s being racist. He says so many coded messages. He criticizes black players differently that how he criticizes white players. One could argue he doesn’t know or realize it and I could are that’s worse.

  • Best Show on ESPN

I appreciate this show even more now that I have to be dragged through 2 hours of Clinton and Friends. Worst 2 hours of radio.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

5/22 10AM: Cubs Call Up Top Prospect Pedro Ramirez!
Q: What makes Pedro Ramirez a compelling call-up for the Cubs right now?
Ramirez brings a strong minor-league track record, including high OPS and homerun production, along with defensive versatility in the infield and outfield. The panel suggests he could provide the spark the Cubs need, especially given the team's underperformance from several regulars this month.
05/26 11AM: Tom Thayer
Q: What impact does rest and travel have on a team's performance over a long season?
The hosts and Thayer discuss rest advantages, travel logistics, and how teams can optimize practice schedules and mid-week recovery to maintain performance, especially on back-to-back or long road trips.
05/26 11AM: Tom Thayer
Q: How do you see the Bears' defensive line fitting into the new system this year?
Thayer explains the emphasis on technique, leverage, and a collective, team-based approach to stopping the run, noting that the mix of interior and edge players needs to work within the scheme rather than relying on one tall, dominant presence.
4/1 11AM: Jesse Rogers
Q: What do you think about the Bears' compensatory picks and their hiring practices?
The hosts discuss ongoing NFL negotiations, arguing the Bears should push back more with the league over compensatory picks, and critique the hiring process as being overly technical rather than merit-based.
4/17 11AM: Noah Schultz
Q: What was it like reflecting on your debut now that you've had a chance to think about it?
It's been whirlwind, nerve-wracking but special, with a standing ovation and support from family and friends.
