  • Yes Yes! But Noooooo…

In a landscape where the majority of theatre-related podcasts are virtually unlistenable (Broadway Breakdown notwithstanding), this is full of fresh, funny, insightful conversations & it proves you don’t have to be in the industry to put out great B’way-related content. Super excited for season 3…wish it hadn’t started out with that Todrick fella, who doesn’t deserve a redemption arc. That’s a bad dude who’s done bad stuff. But hoping subsequent episodes won’t be featuring Scott Rudin, Harvey... more

  • Bootlegging

Instead of consuming bootlegged material encourage people to see local theater. Community theater, high school, college, it’s everywhere.

Also agree more pro shots would be great.

  • Love love love

This has quickly become my favorite podcast. I can’t get enough of the Broadway insider interviews and Casey is a hilarious host! Some of the Hot Scene Cold Reads deserve to made into SNL skits. I think I actually guffawed during one of them, which is an unappealing but accurate descriptor. Please never stop making this show!!

SPECIAL TONY DROP EP WITH ZHAILON LEVINGSTON!
Q: How do you approach collaboration when sharing a show between directors?
Collaboration starts with aligning on process and ethos, ensuring a strong, communicative relationship, and building a room where both creators' sensibilities—tone, pacing, and staging—feed into a unified vision.
SPECIAL TONY DROP EP WITH ZHAILON LEVINGSTON!
Q: What are the core tensions you balance when reimagining Cats as a ballroom-infused show?
The core balance is making sure the revival works for both Ballroom and Cats, preserving the score while allowing a new rhythm and storytelling approach; the goal is an event, not a documentary, that respects the source material while inviting a fresh audience experience.
DEATH BECOMES DEE ROSCIOLI!
Q: What's the most challenging part of performing Death Becomes Her, especially given its manic, monologue-like songs?
The song is a kitchen sink piece that requires using every part of the voice, maintaining human emotion, and not tipping into impersonation. It's vocally and physically demanding, but when in the flow, things click and the magic happens.
DEATH BECOMES DEE ROSCIOLI!
Q: How did you end up being the standby for two major leads, Madeline and Helen, and how did that impact your preparation?
It was a planned progression; I started rehearsals with Madeline and then learned Helen later. The workload is heavy, but it's a package deal, and the flexibility to cover both roles became my mode of operation, requiring careful timing and quick costume changes.
How Do Small Shows Become Must See Theatre? with JACK SERIO
Q: What actually is the role of a director in a show, and does it change when moving from a small space to a bigger space?
The director acts as chief audience advocate, collaborates deeply with designers and actors, and must adapt blocking, pacing, and storytelling to fit space and resources, while maintaining a cohesive vision that engages the audience.
