The show is very cozy and endearing. Like a chat with members of the audience after seeing a horror film in the theatres. Enjoyable to decompress to.
One hour and three minutes into the review and you finally get to the movie. A lot of the discussion sounds really repetitive and quite boring. I couldn’t give a less of a star review.
The best horror movie podcast going. Honest opinions and great chemistry with the hosts.
One of the best horror movie review podcasts out there! Love listening to the discussions of these movies vs a scene by scene recap. Their chemistry together is great, you can tell they’re all good friends. Really love hearing Gill and her deeper perspectives- she always brings a new aspect out from these movies that I hadn’t thought about or noticed. All in all, this podcast slaaaaays!
For me, the It Slays Podcast used to be "must listen" every time it was released. Horror-discussion podcast that reviews a broad spectrum of horror films, from classics to new releases, with spoiler-filled analyses, debates, and lively banter. Episodes emphasize filmcraft elements ( pacing, score, creature design, set pieces ), director choices, and how films fit into horror history, often contrasting theatrical experiences with streaming options. The format balances thoughtful critique with personality-driven conversations, and guests or regulars occasionally bring in fresh perspectives. A standout trait is the strong sense of camaraderie and the willingness to challenge each other, which makes for engaging, opinionated conversations that help listeners decide if a film is worth their time.
