  • Not a complicated review

The show is very cozy and endearing. Like a chat with members of the audience after seeing a horror film in the theatres. Enjoyable to decompress to.

One hour and three minutes into the review and you finally get to the movie. A lot of the discussion sounds really repetitive and quite boring. I couldn’t give a less of a star review.

  • It Slaaaaaays

One of the best horror movie review podcasts out there! Love listening to the discussions of these movies vs a scene by scene recap. Their chemistry together is great, you can tell they’re all good friends. Really love hearing Gill and her deeper perspectives- she always brings a new aspect out from these movies that I hadn’t thought about or noticed. All in all, this podcast slaaaaays!

  • What Happened?

For me, the It Slays Podcast used to be "must listen" every time it was released. I loved listening at work and getting unique takes on such a wide variety if films that many other podcasts ignore or just are not smart enough to review. All this came to an end with the July 30, 2022 review of Sleepaway Camp. I enjoy the film and the group's trashing of it is NOT the point. I love a good debate and welcome differences of opinion. I don't need to agree with an opinion to enjoy a review. My problem... more

In The Mouth Of Madness (1995) (SEVEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY)
Q: What's your favorite seventh sequel in a horror franchise?
Nicholas's favorite is Friday the 13th, 7th, The New Blood. Mike's favorite is Wes Craven's New Nightmare, while Colton humorously suggests Jurassic World Rebirth and also mentions Leprechaun Returns. Jill chooses Halloween H2O.
Multiple Maniacs (1970) (PRIDE PICK)
Q: How does Multiple Maniacs fit into the larger context of John Waters films?
It's a raw and loose exploration of queerness and societal rebellion, with Divine serving as a larger-than-life figure that challenges norms.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) (PRIDE PICK)
Q: What are your opinions on like musicals and horror musicals in general?
I like them, but they have to be campy for me to enjoy. Horror musicals like Repo and Little Shop of Horrors are great examples.
Belladonna Of Sadness (1973)
Q: What do you think of summer horror movies?
Horror movies like Friday the 13th Part 2 and I Know What You Did Last Summer are popular summer picks.
Longlegs (2024) (NOW SLAYING)
Q: So Mike, what are your spoiler-free thoughts on Long Legs?
The aesthetic blew me away; everything was framed so beautifully, and the color palettes were striking and unsettling.
