  • Enough with the Gotcha journalism

I generally enjoy the detail and discussions during this podcast, but at times the host can be argumentative and condescending towards the guests, it’s exhausting to listen to.

I understand that the host wants to challenge the guests on numbers, facts and plans (they are all professionals after all), but it appears at times that the host wants to employ “gotcha” questioning, please stop.

  • Okay

Seems a little amateur and haphazard relative to the Inside Politics podcast. The interviewer is not especially likeable either

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Will new pay transparency rules close the gender pay gap for good?
Q: What is the overall aim of the directive in terms of gender equality and pay?
The directive aims to advance gender equality by improving pay transparency, requiring analysis of pay across categories of workers, and potentially triggering joint pay assessments if gaps exceed defined thresholds, though it does not, by itself, solve the broader gender pay gap which involves societal and educational factors.
Will new pay transparency rules close the gender pay gap for good?
Q: So when this is implemented and an employer is advertising for a particular role, what will it mean for the employer?
The pay transparency rules require the initial pay level or pay range to be disclosed to a candidate either in the job ad or prior to interview, but not necessarily in every case; the aim is to place candidates in a stronger bargaining position while protecting commercial sensitivity. Employers may choose to share pay information on request or more broadly, depending on their approach and the organization.
Kerry Group CEO on the impact of Middle East conflict, AI and drive to keep bread fresher for longer
Q: How is Kerry navigating tariffs and geopolitical shifts to protect margins and growth?
Kerry emphasizes local sourcing and manufacturing, minimizing structural disadvantages, and continuing to leverage existing global logistics to manage tariff exposure, while keeping a focus on real volume growth and margin expansion.
Kerry Group CEO on the impact of Middle East conflict, AI and drive to keep bread fresher for longer
Q: What role does AI have to play in Kerry's operations and where have you deployed it?
AI is being rolled out to improve everyday work, customer interactions, and supply-chain efficiency, with pilots like Copilot for thousands of employees and AI-enabled customer portals to trace ingredients through the supply chain.
Are Government's fuel measures betting on a quick resolution to the conflict in Iran?
Q: What are the implications for businesses as contracts roll off and hedging options become more expensive?
Many businesses face higher hedging costs and potential volatility; the discussion highlighted the need for flexible, targeted supports and careful budgeting to navigate coming months.
