  • Sam is top notch

Love his knowledge, passion and professionalism. One light hearted piece of constructive criticism: he uses the word “really” enough that it would make a phenomenal college drinking game if you listen and take a drink when he says the word. Lights out by 11.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

3.30 Jamul Casino Resort Padres Postgame Show
Q: What stood out about the bullpen tonight and its ability to keep the Padres in the game?
The bullpen was a clear bright spot, delivering five scoreless innings overall and enabling a chance to rally late, with Peralta, Morgan, and Maranaccio all contributing strong relief appearances. Despite some earlier struggles, the bullpen has been the strength of the team through the early games.
3.30 Jamul Casino Resort Padres Postgame Show
Q: What did you think about Jake Cronenworth leading off in the lineup tonight and the approach to the top of the order?
I think two games is a small sample, but the manager is willing to be flexible based on matchups; Cronenworth has shown some value leading off when he's on base and active on the bases, but if it's not producing, they'll adjust. Fernando may still be considered for leadoff in certain situations, but the current plan is to stay malleable and try different configurations to spark the offense.
3.28 Jamul Casino Resort Padres Postgame Show
Q: What stood out most about Randy Vasquez's performance tonight?
His ability to work out of trouble in the first inning and then cruise through six scoreless frames, showing improved velocity and aggressiveness in attacking hitters.
3.31 Jamul Casino Resort Padres Postgame Show
Q: What adjustments are planned to address the offense and bullpen after the rough start?
The manager indicated a focus on getting the breaking ball back, evaluating bullpen roles, and continuing to give players opportunities to prove themselves while recognizing the early still-young season context.
3.31 Jamul Casino Resort Padres Postgame Show
Q: What went into the decision to keep Hart in for a pivotal at-bat in the sixth inning?
The manager explained that Hart had been pitching well through the earlier innings and that he wanted him to face Devers, hoping for outs or a groundball, though the outcome did not go as hoped and the inning escalated.
