  • Microphone volume levels.

I have always enjoyed all of your content. Throw out the many years you guys have been doing your stuff. FWIW Marty's microphone is way louder than anyone else so it does create an issue of turning up and down the volume every time someone talks. Thanks guys!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Padres rotation strength, Fernando Tatis' moment, new owners are near
Q: What's the most encouraging sign about the Padres' rotation right now?
The hosts point to back-to-back quality starts, the emergence of Walker Buehler, and the bullpen stability as a combined signal that pitching has found a more reliable rhythm alongside the improved offense.
Padres are coming, Michael King feels the pressure, why call up Ethan Salas?
Q: How much does the pitching staff improve with the addition of veterans like Casey Mize and Robbie Ray?
Heath Bell explains that the presence of reliable depth allows the rotation to stay fresh, reduces bullpen strain, and provides a more stable foundation for the offense to operate around, especially as Musgrove and King take on bigger roles.
Padres huge homestand, Robbie Ray debuts, Astros analyst Geoff Blum
Q: What do you make of the Astros' trade deadline moves and how they might shape their chances moving forward?
Blum explains that the Astros weighed the shift in the market and the balance of prospect capital, noting that while they pursued arms, the market's dynamics and the near-term needs influenced their stance, alongside the coaching and organizational context.
Casey Mize makes Padres debut, Pivetta scare, Kyle Glaser stops by
Q: What did you think of the Padres' trade deadline moves, Kyle?
Kyle suggested that adding two high-end arms was essential for the rotation and playoff readiness, and that the changes should stabilize the pitching staff while the offense continues to trend up; he also emphasized the importance of team-wide improvements rather than relying solely on the stars.
AJ Preller wants to buy, Kyle Glaser on best trade partners for Padres
Q: Why is Mason Miller such a focal point, and how does his presence shape the Padres' strategy?
Mason Miller represents a rare top-level asset with controllable years; keeping him unless the return is substantial preserves long-term upside, but a well-structured deal could accelerate a retooling that benefits the Franchise over multiple seasons.
