  • Was expecting more

I was expecting to get some great specific local content that you don’t get by listening the the ESPNs of the world, and while the content did meet my expectations, the lack of editing before posting is what lost my interest. Interviews where you here only the person being interviewed and not the question, or the questions but not the person answering left me like....what? Echoes from the hosts microphone that made it unbearable to listen to also didn’t help much. Not a long time listener, bu... more

5-26-26 Jim Coyle with Mike DeCourcy and Indy Drivers
Q: What is the state of Indiana University football under Curt Cignetti, according to this episode?
Cignetti's leadership is described as planting a strong new brand for Indiana football, improving recruiting and performance, with expectations of continued success and potential ascent in the Big Ten standings.
5-26-26 Jim Coyle with Mike DeCourcy and Indy Drivers
Q: What are the main implications of NIL and CSC adjustments for athletes and programs?
DeCourcy explains that the fall of the older collective-NIL models and the push toward a more regulated framework will require athletes to navigate potentially large pay structures, but the key premise is preserving competitive fairness; automatic qualification and conference championships are argued as essential to maintaining legitimacy in championships.
5-26-26 Jim Coyle with Mike DeCourcy and Indy Drivers
Q: What made the Indy 500 finish so remarkable, and how did the crowd react despite weather concerns?
The finish was decided by 0.233 seconds after a final-pass move, making it the closest Indy 500 finish in history. The crowd remained electric and the weather interruptions were managed by race officials in a way that preserved a dramatic, red-flag finish.
5-27-26 Jim Coyle with Dylan Sinn, Kyle Neddenriep,
Q: What are your expectations for Indiana's big football game against Ohio State this season?
Both hosts suggest a tough, high-stakes matchup with Ohio State likely favored, but Indiana could surprise if they leverage the home-field advantage and improve play across the roster.
5-6-26 Jim Coyle with Dylan Sinn, Kyle Neddenriep
Q: What is the potential impact of the proposed changes to the college football playoff on Indiana and the Big Ten?
The proposed changes could expand the playoff field and include more automatic bids for major conferences, which would likely favor teams with strong quarterly schedules and could elevate Indiana's exposure and recruiting, while also altering how non-conference games are valued.
