  • Thank you!

    Scott and Dr. Clavio,

Thank you both so much for your coverage of this historic football team these last 2 seasons! I was at IU from ‘93-97 and really didn’t have much to cheer for. I then traveled to SFla for medical school and was introduced to ACC and SEC football. We took our first jobs in Durham where my 2 daughters were born. They are now 14 and 16 and huge Duke bball fans.

I tell you this, like many other Hoosiers my age, because I was starting to loose my IU passion. I found your pod ... more

Enjoy the pod but lost respect for Galen for not standing up forThe I.D.S newspaper. Looks like he sold out the kids to protect his own interests.

  • ESPN show

I enjoyed this show. As a boomer I watch games on ESPN but I don’t watch any of the shows. I think they are boring. I wasn’t aware of the effort to recoup money with the betting angle. But I get it now.

I prefer listening to podcasts on the Apple app over watching on YouTube. So many podcasts encourage watching on YouTube. What am I missing?

    Also, I really like Substack.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Josh Hoover, Monshun Sales, Curt Cignetti’s Recruiting Leap, IU Basketball Skepticism, and World Cup Talk
Q: Will Josh Hoover be over or under eight interceptions this season?
The hosts expect Hoover to be around eight interceptions, noting his gunslinger tendencies but trusting Cignetti and the offense to coach decision-making and protect the ball, while also acknowledging that some early games may test him.
World Cup Analysis - Day 11
Q: What is the current stance on tiebreakers when groups finish with tied points?
Head-to-head results are still considered important, though goal differential plays a significant role, and simulations suggest four-point teams are safest to advance, with careful consideration given to third-place scenarios.
World Cup Analysis - Day 12
Q: What is the likely US knockout-stage path given current group standings?
The hosts discuss a favorable potential path through Bosnia or a third-place team, with a realistic chance of facing Egypt in the round of 16, depending on group results, and emphasize home-field advantages as a significant factor.
Colin McMahon on Indiana Football’s Title Aftermath, 2026 Roster, and Recruiting Surge
Q: What is IU's recruiting strategy going forward after the championship season?
The strategy involves a healthy mix of transfers and homegrown players, avoiding a rinse-and-repeat approach while prioritizing character, production, and NIL readiness. With strong in-state momentum and continued NIL development, IU aims to attract high-level in-state talents like Mason McDermott and Caleb Johnson, signaling a broader, sustainable pipeline into the program.
Colin McMahon on Indiana Football’s Title Aftermath, 2026 Roster, and Recruiting Surge
Q: What stood out in spring practice and which players looked promising?
Spring practice highlighted Tyler Morris as a potential breakout piece, with the returning running back group and an improved defense continuing to show strength. The roster depth at running back and the defensive line, plus new defensive contributors, were key takeaways as the team prepared for a championship-defense mindset.
