Saurabh Chandra on ‘future factory’ vision in era of physical AI
Q: What does the three-phase path to a Dark Factory look like in practical terms?
Phase one focuses on digitizing data and creating a map of the factory with real-time visibility, phase two adds full robotic automation and material flow orchestration, and phase three introduces deeper autonomy where humans, software agents, and robots coordinate in a near-dark environment, with configurable levels of human oversight.
High voltage harvest: Anoop Srikantaswamy’s electric vision for the future of Indian agriculture
Q: How autonomous do you expect Moonrider tractors to become, and what does that imply for Moonrider as a company?
Autonomy is expected to evolve from connected tractors with OTA updates toward autonomous pods or integrated systems over the next 5–10 years, reducing the need for drivers in the long term and enabling farmers to implement precise, unmanned farming plans, while Moonrider builds deep in-house capabilities to achieve this five-in-one subsystem and eventual full autonomy.
High voltage harvest: Anoop Srikantaswamy’s electric vision for the future of Indian agriculture
Q: How do you see the commercialization roadmap unfolding over the next few months and years?
The plan is to deliver the first 100 tractors within the next four to five months, starting with 27hp and 50hp units to large customers like CBG players, then scale to around 400 tractor runs in the current financial year, and push toward 16,000–20,000 units over five years to reach multi-thousand crore revenue, with a focus on after-sales service and servicing capabilities.
High voltage harvest: Anoop Srikantaswamy’s electric vision for the future of Indian agriculture
Q: Can you give us a snapshot of what Moonrider has already done so far, including funding and product milestones?
Moonrider has raised about $8 million across two years, built three tractor form factors (27, 50, and 75 horsepower), achieved road-ready homologations, and started commercializing the 27hp tractor with early customers, while preparing to deliver 100 tractors in the near term and expanding to 1,000 and beyond through a phased commercialization plan.
From jetpacks to robot brigades: Jay Panchal on Aule’s vision for India’s space-tech future
Q: Can you also talk a bit about how you and Nithyaa and Hrishit came together?
Jay explains how he met his co-founders at a conference and their shared experiences in aerospace.
