  • Actually Useful Advice and Lessons Learned

I have notifications on for every episode while I navigate my own startup through the ambiguity of finding product-market fit.

Compared to this podcast, everything else seems to be more garbage than not. This is the highest caliber startup content you can find. It’s genuinely true when they say they skip the talking points to get to the heart of actually how to do this stuff.

I wish there were 1,000 episodes because I would binge that rather than sleep.

Q: What cultural or leadership lessons from Snowflake stand out for building an enduring GTM machine?
Cultivate direct communication, transparency, and accountability. Don't tolerate bad behavior; fix issues quickly, even if it's uncomfortable. Build a culture of drivers over passengers, and surround yourself with people who push you to do better while giving honest feedback.

Q: How do you assess and recruit great sales leaders who can scale with the company?
Look for deep experience with hard-to-sell products, a track record of developing people, curiosity, self-starting drive, and a willingness to take ownership. References matter, and you should probe for real performance, not just titles.
Snowflake’s first sales hire on scaling from $0 to $3.5B | Chris Degnan (Former CRO, Snowflake)
