A podcast that centers immigrant stories without putting immigrants into a box! I’m so impressed by the diverse range of topics that Immigrantly has covered in the past. Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Praying in Secret: What It Really Costs to Be Muslim in America
Q: How did the idea for More Muslim originate and evolve?
From a capstone project to a full-fledged show developed with a female-led production team, moving away from co-host dominance to authentic storytelling led by women reporters, with pilots and journalist training shaping the voice of the series.
Praying in Secret: What It Really Costs to Be Muslim in America
Q: Why focus on Muslim women in More Muslim?
The creators wanted to center voices that are often underrepresented and to explore issues like access to mosques and legal recognition of marriages, framing conversations within the community rather than external judgments.
Hip Hop Into Your Raw Self with Zainab Hasnain FKA ZEEMUFFIN (Dec 2022)
Q: What makes hip hop resonate for you personally beyond a music genre?
Hip hop for me is storytelling and authenticity—the anti-establishment ethos, the energy exchange in live spaces, and the way it can incorporate different cultures and languages to tell each artist's unique truth.
Hip Hop Into Your Raw Self with Zainab Hasnain FKA ZEEMUFFIN (Dec 2022)
Q: How do you view the role of women in hip hop today, and what changes have you seen in terms of collaboration and support?
There has been a real shift with more women dominating the scene and supporting one another, though there's still room for more cross-border and cross-gender collaboration; examples like Glorilla and Cardi B show a positive trend of women lifting each other up.
Hip Hop Into Your Raw Self with Zainab Hasnain FKA ZEEMUFFIN (Dec 2022)
Q: Tell me how you transitioned from investment banking to music, and what headspace you were in during that period.
I treated banking as a means to pay the bills while I pursued music, using that money to study and build a network before committing to art full-time; there was no single passion-switch moment, just a practical pivot toward a life in music.
