  • Annoying woman!

I just tried the Kevin Bishop one and was quickly put off with that woman doing an over the top Ricky Gervais type laugh every time he spoke. Get rid!

  • I’d prefer more focus on the guests.

I find this podcast quite variable but I’m trying to stick with it. Sometimes it feels like we’re just getting a performance from the hosts though, and that they don’t give the guests enough space to speak fully without constantly interrupting. (As an ADHDer I know this is hard not to do, but in the context of a podcast it feels important).

Also can’t get on board with Mine’s aggressively anti-meds stance… they’re proven to be effective for huge numbers of people, and not everyone has the opti... more

  • Bias

Mine’s pathological fear and mistrust of any medication is concerning. It’s a conspiracy theory level of bias which I find troubling because they are in a position to influence people. The other ADHD podcasts manage to be balanced and weigh up the facts and evidence. I wish Paul could balance out the bias by researching the evidence, and bringing some facts to the podcast regarding medication.

Helen George: The Secret She’s Been Hiding
Q: Do you think ADHD strengthens your work in acting or other areas?
She reflects on dopamine-driven energy and risk-taking that can aid performance, offset by the need to manage catastrophizing and the challenges of repetitive tasks in theatre. The discussion highlights both benefits and trade-offs in creative work.
Helen George: The Secret She’s Been Hiding
Q: What does a day look like for you in managing ADHD, especially with kids?
Helen outlines a highly organized routine the night before, with preparing clothes, meals, and keys, and using tools like a 'launch pad' for essential items to minimize day-of forgetfulness and chaos.
Helen George: The Secret She’s Been Hiding
Q: What was the moment of realization that led you to seek a diagnosis?
She describes a 'light bulb' moment triggered by conversations about how ADHD presents differently in women with children, followed by confirmation from a doctor after initial discussions and tests.
Helen George: The Secret She’s Been Hiding
Q: So Helen, this is the first time you're speaking publicly about being an ADHD, but you were diagnosed four years ago. What made now feel like the right moment to share your diagnosis?
Helen explains that the decision stemmed from parenting challenges and a broader realization about how ADHD manifests in women, especially after speaking with a male friend with ADHD who inspired her to seek a diagnosis. The conversation marks a pivotal shift toward openness and normalization of ADHD in public discourse.
Anarchy in the Studio with John ‘Johnny Rotten’ Lydon
Q: But a lot of children don't have that support and that push to be resilient?
You have to go through it and then you can look back on it, but you must never have hindsight about anything that's happened to you because you cannot correct it.
