  • Best Book Podcast

I listen to a couple of different book podcasts and this by far is my favorite! These girls have convinced me to branch out of my normal thriller & romance genres into different ones like dystopian, fantasy, and sci-fi. I look forward to listening to them weekly!

I sincerely enjoy listening in each week. It makes me feel as though I am gathered around a cozy setting with some friends just yapping about all things bookish. It doesn’t feel like there is any comparison or judgment at all and I can appreciate that! :)

  • Unprofessional

I really tried to like this podcast. In fact, I listened to about a dozen episodes to ensure my impressions weren’t isolated incidents but sadly, I couldn’t continue. The horrendous audio quality, clear lack of preparation, and consistently terrible grammar/pronunciation made me question if actual adults produced this podcast.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Voice of SJM’s Worlds: Elizabeth Evans!
Q: What was your audition like?
The audition involved reading passages from different genres to determine if I fit a specific style.
The Voice of SJM’s Worlds: Elizabeth Evans!
Q: Tell us a little bit about your journey to becoming an audiobook narrator.
I totally fell into it by accident while at NYU when Audible came for a career day, which led to my audition.
Book Talk w/ ALLY CARTER
Q: Would you ever want your books to be adapted into movies, and if so, which one?
Absolutely! I would love to see my books adapted. 'The Blonde Identity' and 'Most Wonderful Crime' would be fun to see on screen given their high energy and unique plots.
Book Talk w/ ALLY CARTER
Q: What advice do you have for aspiring writers?
Read as much as you can and write as much as you can. Don't think of rewriting as just finding typos; it's about reworking and shaping your ideas.
Book Talk w/ ALLY CARTER
Q: How did you become an author? How did you start from young adult to adult?
My mom was an English teacher, and so books and stories were always very important in our house. I grew up on a farm, and I always had a wackadoodle imagination, telling myself stories. Despite being a reluctant reader, a pivotal moment came when I read 'The Outsiders' and realized I could write like the authors I admired. I pursued an agricultural economics degree but eventually returned to my passion for writing.
