One of the best takes I’ve heard on politics and history is that one’s opinion of Nixon and what happened during Watergate is an IQ test. While this doesn’t explore the legitimacy of Watergate, it does offer the broader vision of the man that he well deserves. And…how would those dominos have continued to fall? Who would’ve run in 76? In 80?
I must admit as a staunch liberal born in the late 80’s I had never given much thought to Nixon’s policy vision. To me, it was always “good riddance.” This series has given me a wild new perspective on the man sometimes called “the Last Liberal Republican” and the sacrifice he made for the good of our country. Oh, what might have been. Highly recommend this piece.
The show offers some interesting insights and perspectives on Nixon. That’s good and gives the show some value.
