河烏是山區溪流的指標生物，能潛入激流捕食水棲昆蟲與小型魚類。屏科大野保所助理教授洪孝宇自2004年起在武陵地區的七家灣溪展開調查，20多年來透過繫放與記錄，逐漸拼湊出一幅河烏與溪流生態、颱風之間的複雜關係圖。

中華鳥會秘書長呂翊維從大學開始研究鳥類的鳴叫聲，擁有十多年鳥類調查的經驗，近年則將工作重心轉向推廣。3月14日週六，緯創人文基金會舉辦志工活動，便邀請呂翊維秘書長擔任講師，帶領近40名志工在關渡自然公園體驗賞鳥。這裡距離市區不遠且鳥種豐富，是最適合新手入門的地方。
