I have been in an emotionally abusive marriage for 25 years. Just a few years ago I heard about emotional abuse and was finally able to make sense of what was going on in my marriage. It’s like a light bulb went off. I had been living in a Twilight Zone episode. Fast forward years, counselors, research, 50+ books, podcasts etc… but there’s no one, in my opinion, who gets it like Dr Clarke. Not hours of reading, counseling and continuation of the madness. A clear understanding and plan… in ... more
My pastors counseled and gaslit me so hard. I ended up leaving and letting my evil covert narc husband stay there. He’s in leadership and I was going crazy. I joined Flying Free with Natalie Hoffman and found out about David Clarke while in the program and wow. I feel so empowered and I know I’m not crazy. I can move on and be free and I now completely understand what was going on in those bizarre marriage counseling sessions!!!
You are really helping me right now. I listen to you on repeat for strength. I can’t tell you what all your videos mean to me. Just thank you so much.
Finally I found someone who understands emotional abuse! I’ve been dealing with (what I suspect) is a covert narcissistic husband for a decade. Everything is my fault while he plays the victim, and uses the religious card to point out my flaws (while he plays the victim). Glad I found this podcast so I can stop second guessing myself!!
