  • Tremendous new podcast

Chris and Dave do a phenomenal job. Great balance of mental approaches and skill levels makes us relatable for every golfer out there. They’re willing to delve deep into the mental side in a very humble way. Top-notch guests. And you can’t beat the little taste of Scotland.

  • You actually let us listen!

Great job so far. Great guests. Too often I find a podcast with a great guest and the hosts decide to jabber on and on about their own games or experiences. I don’t care about that!! I came here because of your guests (Raymond Prior, Scott, Karl Morris) and you actually let us listen to THEM! Well done. You can’t believe how often podcasters miss the boat on that. Consider me ‘subscribed’.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The One Skill Every Golfer Needs (And the 2 Things That Change Everything) | Alex Huang Part 2
Q: What practice setup would you recommend to reinforce a consistent driver shape and improve pace control?
Use a block practice routine with alignment sticks and ball-position cues to lock in a reliable start line and ball flight, then transfer skills to course-like scenarios focusing on lag putts and precise carry distances.
The One Skill Every Golfer Needs (And the 2 Things That Change Everything) | Alex Huang Part 2
Q: How should a mid-handicap player think about putting from 12 to 25 feet?
Aim to be the 'tap-in king/queen' from 12–25 feet by practicing getting putts to pass the hole and leaving tap-ins, rather than chasing long, risky attempts; this reduces stress and increases the likelihood of two-putts.
The One Skill Every Golfer Needs (And the 2 Things That Change Everything) | Alex Huang Part 2
Q: If we only have two hours to practice per week, what should be the focus to maximize scoring improvements?
Focus on owning the driver shape and ensuring solid ball-striking fundamentals, plus lag putting and carry distances; by simplifying and prioritizing these two elements you'll see the biggest drops in scoring, especially for mid-handicappers.
Stop Practicing Wrong: Adam Young’s DIRT Method to Transform Your Golf Game (Part 2)
Q: What would be a really smart practice session for each of us to translate range work to the course?
A diagnostic-first session that identifies the dominant fault pattern (direction vs strike), followed by targeted intervention drills (e.g., ground contact or face direction), then refinement with calibrated feedback, and finally a transfer phase that places those skills into a game-like scenario with targets and pressure.
Karl Morris – Part One: The Skill Golfers Never Train (And Why They Stay Stuck)
Q: Can you explain how to train acceptance in a practical way?
A practical approach is to recognize that every round contains ones, twos, and threes, label each shot accordingly, and predefine a target number of threes to normalize the experience and keep focus on the process rather than the outcome.
