  • The Podcast for Mental Improvement

Anyone who has played the game of golf with the goal of being your best or even simply to make the experience better likely knows the feeling of an unintentional rushed or tentative shot.

If you have and you wonder “where did that come from?” Chase and Raymond will tell you.

And if you are like me and believe that “I can do it on the range but not the course” GBTS offers you a chance to change that mindset and become free to pursue what you want in golf.

  • Good for the mind, great for the game.

There are many legitimately great things about the depth and quality of information that Ray Ray and Coop (Not their actual nicknames, I just enjoy imagining them as a couple of old guys who work on beat up cars in their spare time.) are sharing on this show. However, most of them have been covered by other reviews and all of them will be readily apparent before your even close to halfway through the first episode, so you should just go start listening now.

However, if you prefer to continue r... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Q & A 8.0
Q: How can I shape my child's youth golf experience to help them become mentally stronger as they progress?
Focus on providing ownership to the child regarding their golf experience, encouraging them to express their preferences. Gradually increase stakes while allowing for struggles, and let them learn through experiences rather than creating an environment of high expectations too soon.
Mega Q & A (part 1)
Q: What is your take on the utility of a one-hour weekly lesson?
I'm not a huge fan of weekly lessons; they often don't allow enough time for practice and can lead to students relying on lessons as practice. I advocate for a longer interval, like bi-weekly sessions, to allow for more effective learning and skill development.
Mega Q & A (part 1)
Q: Chase, could it be good practice to recall great shots after a round to ingrain those into the mind more?
It is indeed beneficial to recall great shots to reinforce positive memories, which can help in dealing with the negativity of recalling bad shots. The emphasis is on processing those experiences and separating them from future outcomes.
Q & A 7.0
Q: How can we best address insecurities in golf?
Starve your insecurities by doing the things that trigger them instead of avoiding them.
Q & A 7.0
Q: Can you recreate pressure during practice to build tolerance for discomfort?
Use drills that force you into discomfort, such as only hitting one shot each time you practice.
