Knew Rob from his naming course on domestika and came across an episode of his podcast after following Chris Do’s advice in one of his videos to listen to podcast. Which is something I decided to do because I believe what we watch, listen to, read or let’s say consume, shapes what or who we become.
So I decided to jump on the podcast and listen. From the first two days of listening to these episodes, my brain was being loaded with so much information that I could only process some part of as t... more

I came for the incredible assembly of guests, but I stayed for the multitude of learning opportunities! (Seriously, you don't want to miss his episode with Sunny Bonnell... SO good.) Rob has created a podcast that expertly balances fascinating perspectives from the marketing sphere with insight that can immediately benefit listeners. I'm a fan!
Had to subscribe after the interview with Ana. This is exactly what I was looking for.
The content is really good. Rob interviews many branding and naming experts about their work process. It’s clear, concrete and fun.
Rob does a brilliant job on lifting the curtain on what it takes to build a brand, sharing his own insights as well as facilitating conversations to get golden nuggets out of his top tier guests. JUST give it a listen and you’ll be hooked.

I co-run a brand strategy and design agency and I listen to a ton of podcasts about the topic in my spare time. This one is the best...by far. The questions dig deep and reveal the methodologies used by some of the world's most experienced brand strategists and designers. It has added a lot of value to our work.
Whether you are just starting off in the world of branding or have a lot of experience under your belt, there is definitely something here for you.
This an excellent podcast for anyone interested in branding - not just specialists and students, but also people from outside the industry and academics from others fields. Rob’s interviews are engaging and very accessible. Highly recommended!
A smart podcast designed to delight practitioners of brand building. Great selection of diverse voices from the industry deliver a variety of experiences, tools, and stories. Rob’s focus on the concrete elements of the discipline serves as a nice balance to other brand-focused pods that bring a more philosophical or conversational approach.
HBAB is the podcast I dreamed someone would make. I’ve had so many questions about the actual activities and methods strategists use and Rob fearlessly asks his guests for answers. Though he calls it the brand need stuff, it’s exactly what I’m looking for. Keep asking questions especially what books the pros read themselves and what advice they have for those starting out. I’d love to learn a little more about what a final deliverables look like and more on the difference between corporate and p... more
The professional advice and free naming guide were essential tools as I went through the naming process for my business for the very first time. Knowing the basics and understanding how the Pro’s do it we’re incredibly helpful. Looking forward to Season 3!
I’ve listened to this podcast since the beginning, and always come away feeling smarter and holding a fresh perspective. The guests are varied and universally excellent, as is the interviewing.
The title of the series makes good on its promise, and I love that. Rob, the host, digs into the nuanced details of how established brand builders actually go about their work. His conversations include all the how and why questions listeners would likely be asking of each guest at just the right times. So far, I’ve learned and relearned things in the first two seasons that have begun to sharpen my approach as a brand builder myself – and I’ve been at this for 18 years.
if you have any interest in learning the real "how-to's" of branding or naming, this podcast is for you. it goes WAY beyond buzzwords and into concrete skills. it's like a master class for branding.
