I’m a few years late to the game on this podcast, but insist on listening chronologically anyway. It’s worth my time! There are tons of little things I love about the format and nuances features in this podcast, but one of the coolest things is when the hosts come with “hot takes” and still have the flexibility to be teachable following new information and discourse. Their nostalgic music connections are adjacent to, but still vastly different than mine, so I’m learning about familiar AND diff... more
Wow. What a great podcast - I didn’t even realise there were proper Ska podcasts until today! Much to my delight, the latest episode was about my favourite style of Ska - Jazz-Ska (I like to call it Skazz!) I was surprised the Articles and JazzBo didn’t get a mention, but thanks to this episode I discovered a whole bunch of new bands to check out and let my ears devour! I’m looking forward to binge-ing this podcast.

Solid ska talk with lots of details, history, and opinion--a great listen!
Love the back and forth between JJ and Matt, but I tell you I'm really digging Sean McCabe and Jimmy Doyle repping the Tri-State Area. Please have them on more often!
Keep up the great work!
Apparently, ska is not supposed to promote racial unity, but divide us into warring camps based on denouncing each other as “not real ska.” Ska is supposed to accept influence from all musical genres except punk? Lamentably narrow-minded & snobbish.
Being a huge ska, Ska Punk, Reggae, fan in the uk this podcast is a fantastic listen . A great swim through the history of ska bands and musicians and a heartwarming tour through all things Ska. I don’t know if their are any other UK listeners but their should be ! Plenty of UK acts discussed as well as the more famous USA bands. A great listen and I’m hoping for an episode or 2 devoted to the UK ska punk scene of the late 90’s and into the 2000’s withnotable mentions for bands such as Lightyea... more
