  • Latest Episode with Avi

Do not have this Avi on again. He took over the show and then says it’s not a political show. But we all know what he is directing everyone to do. The fact you even published this episode is crazy. You are amazing Andrew, but need to be careful with some of these idiots that come on.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Public Beta of tvOS 27, Thread Humidifier, & Smart Home Wi-Fi with Plume CPO Alan Coleman
Q: Tell us a little about yourself, Alan, and how you ended up at Plume.
I'm the Chief Product Officer at Plume, brought in through the Sweeper acquisition which became PlumeCare. I founded Sweeper to build self-service experiences for customers, and the move to Plume allowed us to push from a pure Wi‑Fi management focus to a full connectivity experience, including engagement, cybersecurity, and an open-standards approach.
Matter-Enabled Monitor Stand, Big Sonos App Update, & A New Studio!
Q: What smart lock would you recommend for a child-friendly setup and remote status checks?
I would suggest starting with either the Aqara U400 for its UWB capabilities and rechargeable batteries, or the Schlage Sense Pro as a close alternative; if you want something fully non-UWB and stylish, consider the Level Lock Pro with keypad. I'd also recommend considering NFC options for easy access for kids and setting up a remote-status check.
How Thread is Fixing Smart Home Networking with Ann Olivo
Q: How will ThreadDirect change day-one experiences with Thread devices?
ThreadDirect is envisioned to enable point-to-point connections between Thread devices via smartphones, reducing the need for a border router for certain setup scenarios, while the border router remains the core of the Thread mesh.
How Thread is Fixing Smart Home Networking with Ann Olivo
Q: What is the Thread Tools app and who is it for?
The Thread Tools app is a beta visualization tool that lets developers and early adopters see their Thread network in real-world scenarios, including device count, border routers, and signal strength, primarily to aid troubleshooting and network optimization.
Matter 1.6, Product Security 1.1, & More with CSA's Jon Harros, LIVE from Unify!
Q: Can you give us a bit of background on you and what you do at the CSA?
Jon explains he leads the Certification and Testing Programs at CSA, overseeing how products are tested and certified to ensure interoperability and adherence to evolving standards. The discussion emphasizes that Unify brings together major IoT players to answer questions and accelerate collaboration, while Matter 1.6 focuses on improvements that enhance user experience and device security.
