Ilia delivered the Axial Age lecture this past week from her temporary post in Germany, and the questions came in fast enough that we ended up touching the third rail of the whole class — the rise of monotheism. Yes, there was a time when God was not... more
This is the first Q&A of The Future of Religion, and the questions did exactly what good questions do — they pulled the lecture into places I had not planned to take it. Ilia opens by reframing my religion before belief lecture in her own cosmologica... more

I live in Rhode Island and work full time as a veterinarian so it may take me a while. Wondering if you have suggestions for online not boring and progressive Christianity classes. I can p... more
I used to love this show. It is what brought me back to the church, and the reason I’m about to finish my MDiv. Absolutely. Best episode ever. Serious commentary in re Temple as welcoming venue that mediates social division.
This is a true statement, but is motivated by my desire to not be review-shamed by Tripp the next time we drink beer together.
