  • Enlightening & candid / Touched my heart

This episode is a blowout. IN THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY. You keep outdoing yourself with your gentle sincerity, caring, honesty and clear love for each other. / My family was not military or recent immigrants. Yet I could identify and feel so much of what you were sharing. I wanted to give you both a hug. / Few podcasters allow themselves to be as vulnerable and sincere as you folks, sharing your life lessons as you grow together. / I know there’s more to come, but feel compelled to how touched I am... more

  • Honest homesteading

How wonderful to hear your child’s birthday interview! Wish we had hundreds like that! Prayers for you and she (and the rest of your family)! We are older, and past the point of purchasing land, but we ‘farm’ on our half acre with the same intent of service to neighbor in the name of Jesus.

  • Real raw homesteading

This is a great show to listen to as the Homestead Tsunami washes over our country. Tim and Sophie are real about where they come from and where they want to go. For all of us who felt isolated, weird, and lonely in the last 3 years because we made lifestyle choices of long term sustainability and counter culture, counter Rhetoric proactivity, this podcast is a breath of fresh air. Whether you are new at homesteading or an old veteran, this is well worth a listen.

Episode 84: Securing Your Homestead with Infinite Banking and Cash-Flow Strategy with Kurt Berry
Q: So Kurt, what is the Infinite Banking Concept exactly and why should listeners care?
IBC is a process to flow money through a system you own, starting with storing funds in a vehicle like whole life insurance that builds cash value and can be borrowed against for investments, debt payoff, or big purchases, all while keeping the policy in force and maintaining control over your money.
Episode 88: Beef vs Dairy Cows with Janelle Anderson
Q: How did you come about to answer the Call to Farms?
Janelle explains that growing up around agriculture, coupled with marrying a rancher and moving into Tennessee, led her to embrace a life of homesteading and to continue sharing that story through education and mentorship.
Episode 36: Karson Rippstein on Building Soil Health with Redmond Salt
Q: What made you answer the call to farms?
I am from a long line of farmers, but I didn't get to inherit any of my family's ranch; so I started a ranch on my own.
Episode 43: Independent Farming with Shawn & Beth Dougherty
Q: What advice would you give to aspiring farmers or homesteaders who are just starting out on this journey?
You've got free food on your farm right now. Bring the ruminant on to that and start your adventure and farm with reckless abandon.
Episode 45: Real Food for Every Budget: Sally Fallon Morell’s Tips for Healthy Living
Q: How has the quality of sourcing changed over the years?
There has been a significant decline in the quality of food, largely due to the rise of seed oils and the push against traditional animal fats.
