It took well over a year to listen to all of omnibus, and I loved it. I was for sure several of the voice actors played multiple parts, but was amazing when I read up on the cast. It’s evidence that this was a well thought out production about a pivotal time in history. Thanks so much for all your hard work. Bravo!🥀
Really brilliant drama, great characters… although it was a shame about the character Hugh Cavendish, didn’t understand how he was a hero pilot, who came back from the dead and later on became one of the most hate-able characters in many ways, and the voice actor changed too. And why did people knock on doors so aggressively in that era😅
This got me through lockdown Mark 2!! I just couldn’t stop listening to it. Vivid beyond words the characters were so believable I found myself talking to them during situations they found themselves in. Totally immersive, totally worth listening to all over again.
It's set during the first world war, in Folkstone. And in the beginning I wasn't sure I would bother with it as I was more in the mood for horror. But three episodes in and suddenly I was so invested in all the characters.
This show plomps you down into what it was like for people having to deal with the war and with every day matters. It moved me deeply and having just listened to the last episode I am sad, it was a perfect ending. Very true to the show. Life just keeps on, no matter what.
