Things were already off to a shaky start, but when Jessi and her cousin Wallace find a jewel-studded bracelet in Dorothy... more

I love this podcast
Best musical podcast I've listened to. Very catchy songs. Loving the return to Oz. Excited for the next season!
I listened before the remaster and it was okay, but the story is so polished and enchanting here.
This show is so creative! My grade 9 students have been loving it! I especially love the inclusive and diverse characters. The conflicts have been thoughtfully created with many connections to real-world social issues. Great work!
When using a beloved source material, it's really tricky to not lean too heavily in one direction or the other, but Hit the Bricks nails the sweet spot of faithful to the source material while adding enough of its own magic & charm. The writing is sublime & the sound design even more so... do not miss this podcast & subscribe now !!!

I can not begin to rave enough about this podcast. Continuing the tradition of L. Frank Baum in a very organic and clever way, Hit the Bricks is a brand new, modern and inclusive sequel to the first 14 books of the series. Littered with Easter Eggs, pathos and charm, it’s a blast to listen to from start to finish.
If you like fairytale logic this podcast has you covered. The music and story are amazing and how they imagine the world of oz is wonderful. I haven’t been able to get hit the bricks out of my head for days now.
I recently found the podcast from podchaser and have been absolutely entertained throughout the whole show. The characters are unique and the music is lovely!
If you love The Wizard of Oz or just want to be transported to another world, go give this a listen. It takes place 100 years after Dorothy's famous adventures in Oz, and the show beautifully captures that world's beauty, whimsy, and dangers. And: it's a musical!
This podcast is absolutely delightful! Everything from the script to the acting to the sound design to the beautiful music is truly a joy to listen to. I'm very glad they got nominated for the 2020 Audio Verse Awards, as I might otherwise not have discovered this podcast!
If you love L. Frank Baum's Wizard of Oz books, you love musicals, or you just love a great audio drama podcast, this is 100% worth your time!
It feels like a children’s book, reminiscent of the way the Wizard of Oz itself was written—plotted in a manner very convenient for the heroes, full of stumbling upon people who are happy to help and send them on the next stage of their quest, but in a fun and charming way. I’m having fun listening (and definitely catch myself frequently humming the “Just hot the bricks, there’s really nothing toooo iiiit, all you got to dooooo iiiiiis, hit the bricks!”)
Campy storyline and could not get into any of the songs. It lost me right from the start, but I pushed on through two episodes. Never got better. Unsubscribe/delete
If you like musicals, try "36 Questions”.
“In Strange Woods” also has quite a few songs.
Very sweet, creative and whimsical!
This is a great podcast for a variety of reasons, but for a 'greatest hits' of reasons why this podcast is great:
1. It captures the spirit of L. Frank Baum's work while still breathing new and original life into it - this can be a difficult balance to strike.
1.5. - It's very imaginative and creative all around.
2. Great performances!!!!!
3. Compelling story (and characters, but the story is pushed to a great extent by Jessi's character, so this can be the same point, I think).
4. Amazing use o... more
