Great idea, great execution
Outstanding and well produced stories of famous people without the American slant. The new series starts with Egyptian women who were involved in murder and hung. The author presents a very interesting point of view from subjects thoughts. European and American history has been altered by government’s bias. As a reader you are walking back in history with female subjects who made the world better and worse. Thank you bringing the series back in 2025.
Was super excited to hear Charles Dance narrating, just love his voice, acting and now podcast presenter. The programme is something different too, dramatization of key figures in history, sports & culture. My favourite episode was Madam Mao.

Content typically centers on dramatized narratives of historical figures, delving into their lives and the events that shaped their legacies. Episodes often highlight influential leaders from the Arab world, including both well-known and lesser-known personalities, underlining themes of power, identity, and resilience in challenging historical contexts. Unique aspects include a focus on female figures and their complexities in patriarchal societies, as showcased in stories that intertwine personal struggles with broader sociopolitical movements. The narrative style, often supplemented by thorough research, presents history not merely as a list of facts but as a compelling story that resonates with contemporary issues.
