  • Podcast for grownups.

Andrew and his crew bring on guests that not only know what their talking about, but are able to “turn down the noise” as Andrew says that has the tendency to drown out those that know and understand and replace them with vitriol and sound bites. Neither a Jacobean Revolutionary nor a rabid cult follower, Andrew brings a refreshing down the middle appeal to the podcast and allows the facts of the topic to stand on their merits. Give it a listen, you won’t be disappointed.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Heard Tell Live: Trump Announces Iran War "Ceasefire" w/ reporter Eric Garcia
Q: What does this do to the perception of Trump at home and abroad, especially as we head into the midterms?
The hosts suggest it hurts the president's standing with his base to some extent, while also arguing that the outcome is a mixed bag: it could be seen as both a capitulation and a strategic pause, depending on who's interpreting it. The overall sense is that perception will depend more on subsequent actions than on the initial announcement.
The Political Issues and Cultural Controversies Fracturing the United Kingdom with guest Oliver Dean
Q: Is there any chance this is going to be anything other than a big social media blow up and a political distraction?
No, I don't think it is.
The Political Issues and Cultural Controversies Fracturing the United Kingdom with guest Oliver Dean
Q: Is that an unfair assessment of what's really going on, big picture wise?
No, I'd agree with you completely. This has been the case for this labor government since it came into office.
Practical Explainers to Economic Headlines w/ economist Dr Stephen Popick
Q: Is uncertainty worse than bad policy for the economy?
Yes, uncertainty hampers businesses' ability to make informed decisions and adjust to market conditions.
