Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

46. Mom Fatigue, Mood Swings and The Real Reason You Don’t Feel Like Yourself After Kids with Kim Perez
Q: Why are standard lab tests often not enough to detect underlying issues for postpartum moms?
Standard panels can miss patterns and subtle imbalances. Looking at nutrient status, blood sugar regulation, gut health, and hormonal balance as an overall pattern—often using mineral testing like HTMA—provides a more complete picture of energy and mood, revealing dysfunction even when labs appear normal.
42. How ADHD Shows Up in Women with Megs Crawford
Q: Can you explain the difference between full decisions and half decisions and why the full decision sticks better?
A full decision means committing to how to handle an item or task and following through with that choice, whereas half decisions keep you stuck in indecision; progress comes from a series of full decisions applied one item at a time.
42. How ADHD Shows Up in Women with Megs Crawford
Q: What do you recommend someone do with this new information about their ADHD once they have a diagnosis?
She emphasizes a mourning period is natural, followed by seeking support, building community, and asking what to do now rather than what could have been, with a focus on creating a vision and taking small, actionable steps.
42. How ADHD Shows Up in Women with Megs Crawford
Q: So, I think that this is going to really hit with my audience today. Could you start off by sharing your journey, your ADHD diagnosis, and how this evolved into your organizing work and podcast?
Megs describes getting diagnosed around 36, experiencing denial, then leveraging the diagnosis to explore self-discovery, quit alcohol, lose weight, and pivot to building Organizing the ADHD Brain and coaching, with a focus on a holistic, whole-body approach that goes beyond the physical space.
48. Reframing Burnout: Understanding the Highly Sensitive Experience with Amanda Baker
Q: So a question I have for you is how are you navigating the conversations with the people around you when you realize that you're like a highly sensitive person and that you have some ADHD tendencies, to have the support from the people around you as well?
Having supportive partnerships and being brave enough to name what you need, then engaging in facilitated, vulnerable dialogue helps create safety; you can turn off for a short period if needed and come back to discuss, which strengthens trust and understanding over time.
