  • Tackles tough questions

Great show to listen to for everyone, especially if you are in healthcare. The recent episode about the criminality of Johnson and Johnson was superb and the discussion of 340b, the poor behavior of the AMA and many other great topics were wonderful to listen it. Chadi tackles the maligned incentives of healthcare companies, hospitals, and clinicians while also giving great updates across many fields of medicine.

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 274 - Food and Cancer: The Truth
Q: Tell me about the keto diet. What do we know about keto and cancer, and how does it compare to plant-based diets?
Evidence from interventional and observational data suggests plant-based, high-fiber diets are associated with lower cancer risk and favorable biomarkers, while ketogenic diets in cancer are less supported by observational data and may carry long-term risks like cardiovascular issues; they may offer short-term weight loss but could be less sustainable and potentially harmful if not monitored, especially in cancer patients where muscle preservation is crucial.
Episode 272: Genomics for Rare Diseases With Katherine Stueland
Q: Take us a bit back. How did you all start and rise to the top role at GeneDx?
Katherine explains her initial reluctance to become CEO, her motivation to push for more women in biotech leadership, and the sequence of events that led to her leadership at GeneDx, including the strategic shift and the desire to leverage gene-centric diagnostics for broad patient impact.
Episode 270: Translational Research Questions in Small Cell Lung Cancer
Q: How has the treatment landscape for small cell lung cancer evolved, and what are the key translational questions in your lab today?
The guest outlines shifts from platinum doublets to immunotherapy and maintenance strategies, the importance of biomarker-driven therapies, and lab projects focusing on predictive biomarkers, P53 reactivation, and targeting surface proteins for durable responses.
Episode 270: Translational Research Questions in Small Cell Lung Cancer
Q: What got you interested in small cell lung cancer and how did your personal story influence your career?
Her father's battle with small cell lung cancer inspired her determination to pursue research and treatment advances, and she emphasizes the importance of fighting nihilism about the disease with persistent, patient-centered work.
Episode 268: Everything ADCs in Cancer With Paolo Tarantino
Q: Are ADCs being studied across many cancer types and stages?
Yes, there is broad exploration across solid tumors and hematologic cancers, with a growing emphasis on early-stage settings and diverse payload/linker technologies to expand applicability.
