  • Good Questions! Great Questions!

Has anyone noticed that Mike and Jason ask a lot of great questions on the HalBro Show? Someone should keep a running tally every time they get a “Good/Great Question" comment from the guests.

They’re currently on a “Great Question” heater in January. Brough has asked 7 “Great Questions” and 4 “Good Questions.” Halford has asked 1 “Great Question” and 3 “Good Questions.”

Who will have the highest score by the end of the year? Keep it on the dial and listen to Halford and Brough in the Morning.... more

  • Crème de la crème

I’ve been listening daily for about three years now and this show makes my day every time. I appreciate the banter the guys have and love the small tid-bits from Laddy & A-dog. Thanks boys! You rock.

  • The best way to start the day and live, really

After years of listening it only gets better. The wisdom, the humor, the banter and the commiseration of the experience being a Canucks fan. Somehow they blend the dark and the light with authenticity and the impossible balance of self-deprecation and fierce Canadian hockey passion. Love the dogs, love most of the guests. They never coast.

  • Amusing & Entertaining

The Halbro crew keep the subject matter and discussion relevant to the local sports scene, you don’t need to listen every day to understand the banter. It’s a fun way to spend your commute.

    Bravo boys!

  • Far too negative

Hanford and Brough are beginning to make Thomas Drance look like an eternal optimist. I can’t stand the negativity around the Canucks any more and I am stepping away. You can keep it. Dan & Sat are much better while still being objective.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Canucks Look To Avoid Getting Zapped
Q: What is the big picture for the Canucks heading into tonight's game?
The hosts expect a tight matchup against the Lightning with emphasis on lineup decisions and how the Canucks must capitalize on home-ice and avoid penalties, while also situating the game within the larger playoff context.
Blue Jays Baseball Is Almost Here
Q: How much of the Jays miss Bichette will impact the lineup?
Bichette's absence will be felt most against top-tier starting pitching, but the Jays have filled some gaps with Andres Jimenez at short and Okamoto at third, while Vladi and the rest carry the load; overall, depth and offense can compensate to a degree, though peak performance from players like Vlad Jr. will be crucial.
The Best of Halford and Brough 3/17/26
Q: What are you expecting to see from Hoaglander moving forward?
Ferraro expects Hoaglander to maintain maximum effort, improve decision-making under pressure, and enhance his defensive responsibilities and penalty-kill involvement to stay in the lineup.
Is Gavin McKenna The Real Deal?
Q: What stands out about McKenna's development and his comparisons to Panarin or other stars?
Gentille explains that while McKenna may not yet be LeBron-like, his playmaking, pace, and vision are real strengths, and there is potential for him to add a more complete goal-scoring component as he grows.
Is Gavin McKenna The Real Deal?
Q: So why was there no nobody coming to his aid right away?
The host frames this as a question of courage and team loyalty, with debate about whether players should act to defend teammates, and Sean Gentille elaborates that courage involves quick, instinctive action and collective responsibility from the group.
