  • Best Sports Talk Duo in Vancouver

Thank god they are back, 650 Sportsnet afternoon show puts me to sleep and others don't compare to Sekeres and Price

Just wish Sekeres wouldn't constantly talk over his guests and co-host.

  • Last time I listen

It’s a shame with this podcast’s ongoing racism and discrimination towards Russians & Russian born hockey players. I tune in to listen about Vancouver Canuck, hockey. I understand that Canada doesn’t have free speech and if they want to be on the radio, they have to walk the pro Ukraine line. You lost a long time listener.

  • John Shannon interview

Wow! A new low for Sekeres. He actually said he hoped Ovechkin shredded his ACL and ended his career. That’s a worse than usual jerk comment from a guy who makes them regularly.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Cam Robinson: Everyone is available for trades at the draft, except Hronek. McKenna solidifying #1 overall.
Q: What did you think about the Canucks' deadline moves?
Cam views the deadline as generally solid, with some moves maximizing future flexibility through draft picks and controlled costs, while acknowledging some returns were not as high as fans hoped.
Patrick Johnston: New seats at Rogers...but they're emptying fast.
Q: In that story you talk about the new way sports teams and the Canucks go about pricing tickets. Explain that.
Patrick explains that unified ticketing uses large data sets to dynamically price single-game tickets, aiming to capture resale value and balance season tickets versus individual game pricing, with teams seeking greater control over the entire transaction to extract more value from the pie.
Jeevan Badwal: The local young talent is off to another fantastic start with the Whitecaps.
Q: Tell us about the decision to start you in the Müller spot and what it means for your development.
The coaches showed total confidence after a strong preseason, and adapting to the 10th role in training suggested there was a chance to start, which I viewed as a big moment to prove myself.
Cam Robinson: McKenna vs Stenberg - who's #1? And a breakdown of the top NCAA prospects in the draft
Q: Is there value in waiting to see who slides to three or beyond?
Yes, Cam suggests that if a team behind Vancouver covets a player, Vancouver could consider moving down a couple of spots to gain extra assets, but warns that the price must be right and not overshoot the tier gap after the top two.
Cam Robinson: McKenna vs Stenberg - who's #1? And a breakdown of the top NCAA prospects in the draft
Q: What are you hearing about the top pick and how the Canucks might approach it?
Cam explains that if Vancouver lands first or second, McKenna is favored for his pure scoring ability, but cautions that team needs and the ability to translate that potential to the NHL are part of the decision, making the choice between McKenna and Stenberg a high-stakes one. He notes the potential value in trading down if the right player is available at three, but only if the price and tier drop make sense.
