  • Best Sports Talk Duo in Vancouver

Thank god they are back, 650 Sportsnet afternoon show puts me to sleep and others don't compare to Sekeres and Price

Just wish Sekeres wouldn't constantly talk over his guests and co-host.

  • Last time I listen

It’s a shame with this podcast’s ongoing racism and discrimination towards Russians & Russian born hockey players. I tune in to listen about Vancouver Canuck, hockey. I understand that Canada doesn’t have free speech and if they want to be on the radio, they have to walk the pro Ukraine line. You lost a long time listener.

  • John Shannon interview

Wow! A new low for Sekeres. He actually said he hoped Ovechkin shredded his ACL and ended his career. That’s a worse than usual jerk comment from a guy who makes them regularly.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Farhan Lalji: BC Lions and Whitecaps becoming property bros? Vancouver football (both kinds) needs a home
Q: Could you see a joint ownership or a shared stadium model working here, given the fan base and the city's needs?
The hosts discuss that a joint ownership or shared-use arrangement could offer stability and branding benefits, with careful contractual terms to ensure both clubs' access and revenue streams, while addressing political and public perception concerns about selling a major public asset. They acknowledge it would require a long, complex negotiation with government oversight.
Farhan Lalji: BC Lions and Whitecaps becoming property bros? Vancouver football (both kinds) needs a home
Q: Talk to us about this potential buyer and what a sale would mean for the Whitecaps and Lions.
Farhan explains that while a sale to Amar Doman is possible, it would likely involve partnerships or arrangements that protect both clubs' access to the stadium, avoid destabilizing the other party, and maintain public accountability. He also notes that government restrictions and debt considerations would heavily influence any deal, making a simple wholesale sale unlikely.
Sean Duncan: Local kid gets drafted by the New York Yankees!
Q: Explain the 'cutting the deal' part of the draft and signing process.
There were talks the Yankees were a top target; they offered a signing bonus that he chose to accept, essentially sealing his commitment to them.
Sean Duncan: Local kid gets drafted by the New York Yankees!
Q: Take me back to Draft Day. What were the thoughts and emotions as everything was going on for you? Where did you watch it? How did you get the call?
Sean describes watching at home with family, the tension of the day, and the thrilling moment when he learned he would be picked 63rd by the Yankees, a lifelong dream becoming real.
Duane Vienneau: BC Lions are coming home! Team President weighs in on Touchdown Kelowna and the long opening road trip
Q: What are your thoughts on the balancing schedule and potential expansion to a 10th team, such as Quebec City, and how could that influence the Lions and the league overall?
The potential 10th team and a balanced schedule are exciting because they could improve scheduling efficiency and reduce byes, which benefits all teams financially and logistically. While discussing expansion, the focus remains on maintaining BC as a central hub while exploring intelligent, long-term growth options that don't compromise existing markets or the integrity of the league.
