  • Truth sets us free

I learned more about the good news of the gospel in the first two episodes than I did in 18 years of ‘religion’ in a legalistic coC congregation in the bible belt! Keep up the amazing work Dr Farley! I love Jesus more and more the more I hear about Him.

  • Teaching

Farley is a friendly enough guy with an Osteen-like smile, but his teaching is inferior. He mostly builds his platform on disagreement with other teachers & doctrinal platforms. He is quite critical of other teaching that disagrees with his opinions on Scripture. I’ve even heard him refer to a different theological position as “garbage” without explaining why he thinks it’s so. I have no problem with him being critical as long as 1) he explains himself, and 2) is open to people questioning his p... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Is Church Discipline Biblical?
Q: As I want to counsel them appropriately with New Covenant theology, what role does church discipline have in the New Covenant Church and what options exist to deal with leadership issues without being divisive and facing church discipline?
Andrew explains that church discipline can be healthy and restorative when grounded in the gospel, avoiding legalism and coercion. He outlines a pattern from New Testament teaching—erring toward restoration, keeping separation when necessary, and using warnings—while emphasizing grace, gentleness, and clear boundaries to prevent abuse and maintain unity.
Why So Many Different Flood Stories Around the World?
Q: If Noah and only eight people were saved, how do we account for so many other flood narratives around the world?
The host argues that multiple, independent flood stories point to a real shared memory of a global event, preserved through generations and then reframed by different cultures, rather than being evidence against the biblical account.
Alternate Lifestyle? What Can I Do?
Q: What, if anything, should I be doing at this point in my ongoing conversation with my friend who holds an affirming theology?
The host validates the caller's concern, highlighting that persistence in love and clarity matters, but also recognizing that some individuals may not be open to persuasion; in such cases, it can be appropriate to disengage calmly while maintaining peace and continuing to live out the truth.
Offer Our Bodies As "Living Sacrifices"?
Q: My question is about Romans 12 verse 1, where it talks about offering your bodies as a living sacrifice. What does that mean? Are we supposed to be trying harder and doing more?
The host explains that the phrase points to a daily, Spirit-led posture rather than a rigid works-based effort; believers are already owned by God through union with Christ, so the daily life involves choosing to offer the body to God in practical, moment-by-moment dependence on Jesus, rather than cultivating guilt or “dying to self” for its own sake.
How Do I Know I'm Praying Right?
Q: How should I apply biblical assurances about God knowing the desires of the heart to my life and prayers?
Focus on your new heart in Christ, trust that God is working within you, and be yourself rather than trying to manipulate outcomes or perform perfectly.
