Going Hollywood is a perfect example of the best type of podcast. I always feel as though I'm eavesdropping on two friends discussing movies. The topics are fun and I consistently talk back when I passionately agree or disagree.
I discovered this podcast as a referral to “The Poseidon Adventure” episode… I was worried that the hosts, Tony and Brad, were going to tear apart and make fun of my favorite movie. Much to my surprise, they treated it with so much reverence, respect, knowledge, and fun that I couldn’t wait to listen to other episodes. I continue to be entertained and schooled on other favorite movies and classic TV shows, as well as some I’ve never seen. I enjoy Brad and Tony’s easy rapport and extensive resear... more
Lighthearted reviews of movies we love and love to hate. The back and forth conversation is lighthearted and often passionate as these two are lovers of all things cinema. Campy moments abound and that’s a good thing. Often times per episode it will be Tony making a personal opinion or take and Brad telling him how he’s wrong and doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Pure entertainment
The strength here is the variance in the selection of their items (two from Mel Brooks then Rosemary’s Baby). The commentaries are reflexive and visceral rather than “intellectual” so you won’t find any deep analytical insight or philosophical rumination here but they do make this disclaimer at the outset. They also occasionally bring a television context to the historical commentary.
Both fellows are obviously gay but you won’t be offended by their occasional and sideways “bon-mots”.

I only listened to the 2 first shows and simply love this podcast.
I’m a movie fan without being an expert and the knowledge and input that is brought in is simply phenomenal.
Movies raise to a different level especially with all the backstage stories.
I recommend this podcast to all movie lovers.
