  • It doesn’t get much better than this.

    I mean. Yes.

I’ll be honest I didn’t want to like Mr. Giannotto. Partly due to the fact I’ve never been able to spell his last name but also because I saw him drinking white wine (with ice) while eating boneless wings (looked like MILD sauce) on the Tuesday wing night at Buffalo Wild Wings in Germantown. BUT. I’ve come around. His coverage of the local Memphis beat (go Grizz!) has been nothing short of exceptional and I appreciate his fair, if sometimes frustrating, takes on Penny’s program. • Great job so far!

I was a little skeptical at first when Eric Hasseltine left but Jeffrey and Mark have picked things up without skipping a beat. They have been absolutely fantastic every day from 2-4 on 92.9!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Hour 1 - Jeffrey Wright & Company feat. Kevin Cerrito - 23 March 2026
Q: CJ, Cinderella dead?
No, Cinderella can never be dead because we always have underdogs, and the label depends on program stature and branding as much as on actual performance.
Hour 1 - Jeffrey Wright & Company feat. Damichael Cole - 27 March 2026
Q: What are the main goals of the anti-tanking proposals being discussed?
The hosts and Damichael outline that the proposals aim to flatten lottery odds, reward wins rather than penalize losses, and enforce meaningful penalties to discourage tanking, though they acknowledge the political and logistical challenges involved in implementing such reforms.
Hour 2 - Jeffrey Wright & Company feat. David Cobb - 01 April 2026
Q: What are the immediate implications of Curtis Givens leaving the Memphis program?
The discussion outlines potential roster gaps and the need to retain other key guards while considering the financial and recruitment dynamics involved in recruiting replacements and preserving a competitive backcourt.
Hour 1 - Jeffrey Wright & Company feat. David Cobb - 01 April 2026
Q: Cobb, buy sell short or go to Reddit on Penny Hardaway's staff changes.
Cobb and the hosts weigh the hires critically, with some skepticism about whether the staff additions provide enough schematic depth and long-term stability, while acknowledging the constraints of the portal and internal promotion within the conference.
Hour 2 - Jeffrey Wright & Company feat. Kevin Cerrito - 16 March 2026
Q: Do you think they're going to bring expansion to a vote?
The hosts suggest that expansion is being considered seriously by the NBA, with the expectation that votes may be on the horizon, given the high expansion fees and market potential.
