  • It doesn’t get much better than this.

    I mean. Yes.

I’ll be honest I didn’t want to like Mr. Giannotto. Partly due to the fact I’ve never been able to spell his last name but also because I saw him drinking white wine (with ice) while eating boneless wings (looked like MILD sauce) on the Tuesday wing night at Buffalo Wild Wings in Germantown. BUT. I’ve come around. His coverage of the local Memphis beat (go Grizz!) has been nothing short of exceptional and I appreciate his fair, if sometimes frustrating, takes on Penny’s program. • Great job so far!

I was a little skeptical at first when Eric Hasseltine left but Jeffrey and Mark have picked things up without skipping a beat. They have been absolutely fantastic every day from 2-4 on 92.9!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Hour 3 - Jeffrey Wright & Company feat. Coach Norton Hurd IV - 25 February 2026
Q: How much does the final record impact the future of the program?
The final record influences opinions, but it's not definitive for the administration; they may take a more measured approach to evaluate the situation.
Hour 3 - Jeffrey Wright & Company feat. Coach Norton Hurd IV - 25 February 2026
Q: How broken is the actual organization? Or maybe how outdated is the organization in your mind?
It's pretty well established that Memphis is not doing everything it could be doing right now to set itself up for success in this era, while other schools are successfully adapting to the changing landscape of college basketball.
Hour 3 - Jeffrey Wright & Company feat. David Cobb - 26 February 2026
Q: What should be the expectations for Memphis basketball going forward?
The standard should ideally be to win the league, but considering current performance, it might shift to not having two bad years in a row.
Hour 2 - Jeffrey Wright & Company feat. David Cobb - 26 February 2026
Q: Are Memphis fans still invested in the current state of the team?
The fan base feels disillusioned, with mixed reactions to recent performance, and some key players not carrying the team alone.
Hour 1 - Jeffrey Wright & Company feat. Kevin Cerrito - 23 February 2026
Q: Do you believe we should get rid of the draft?
The draft introduces too many complications and I propose a system where the order reflects performance without rewarding continued failure.
