  • Thank you for your service

Thanks coach Anwar for that fibroid episode with Dr Higgins! I learned more in 30 minutes than I did from talking to various doctors who kept diagnosing me incorrectly. I learned that I had fibroids from talking to other black women. had a procedure a few years ago to shrink my fibroids instead of getting the hysterectomy like everyone else that I know did. It makes me feel better hearing how Dr Higgins promotes the less invasive option. I love your dating episodes as well and it’s so awesome ho... more

  • Life changing

These episodes and this advice is truly life changing and also feels like a warm hug. Realistic, tangible things we can do to be more empowered in the dating stage of life.

Additionally, I am not a woman of color, but I get extra value out of this podcast because I get to better understand the experiences of black and brown women too. I can relate to so much of what is discussed. 10/10, thank you!

  • Love this podcast

But some guests are jarring to hear. Sometimes the guest is borderline shouting and I have to turn down the volume then turn it up when Anwar speaks.

About Womb Health with Dr. Kemi Doll
Q: What is the key takeaway you want listeners to have about womb health today?
Start a three-month symptom log to establish a baseline, seek a gynecologist early before problems arise, and advocate for yourself with specific language and data to counter bias in medical encounters; this approach helps you receive timely, accurate care and improves long-term health outcomes.
About Womb Health with Dr. Kemi Doll
Q: There are a lot of myths about fertility and birth control. Could you address some of the common myths?
Common myths include that birth control causes infertility or is unnatural; evidence shows birth control does not increase infertility risk and is not inherently dangerous. Fertility declines with age due to broader health factors and chronic disease prevalence, not solely due to contraception use, and infertility outcomes improve when treated by specialized providers, including REI doctors.
About Womb Health with Dr. Kemi Doll
Q: Can you talk a little bit about why womb health is important, and why Black women in their 30s and 40s need to pay attention to it?
Womb health is critical because disparities in medical care, biological differences, and the long-term impact of conditions like fibroids, endometriosis, and anemia can significantly affect quality of life and overall health. Establishing a baseline, tracking symptoms, and getting early, proactive gynecologic care helps prevent escalation and improves treatment outcomes.
Creating Your Own Luck in a Negative World with Les Alfred
Q: What do you think for the ladies out there that want to learn, want to engage and interact with you more, where can they find you?
You can listen to She's So Lucky every Tuesday, wherever you get your podcasts.
Creating Your Own Luck in a Negative World with Les Alfred
Q: How are you able to navigate that and what would you say to women that are also in their rebranding era that also need to continue down the path?
I was terrified of making this change and having it be so public and evolving so publicly out loud. But then I also remembered like everything is made up.
