I’m a 30 year working musician who still plays and considered myself fairly knowledgeable of all pop/rock/blues music up to now. My middle 19 year old came to me recently and said “hey Dad you have any Fanny albums?” I said…”who?” Well I’ve remedied that and now a dedicated fan. This podcast has been a wonderful journey for a music lover (and father of 3 daughters) to take a deep dive for such an influential and trail blazing band.
Great narrative, great music!
They go into two songs and give behind the scenes backstories about the recordings. Alice is so much fun to listen to. Wish Nickey was more involved! We do get Jean and June though.
A very interesting, informative and often funny podcast not just for Fanny fans but anybody loves and has a genuine interest in music and how it is crafted and produced. Every episode has a feel good vibe - the 3 hosts have great chemistry and actively engage with their audience. Highly recommended listening.
This is a must-listen. I'd not heard Fanny's music or story until introduced to them on this wonderful podcast. From Episode 1 the mutual admiration, respect & love between Kristen, Alice & Byron is palpable; it drew me in. Then, I heard the music and I'm hooked. I love hearing stories about the music, lyrics & journey of Fanny from Alice, June, Jean & Nickey. They explore different songs and break down different aspects of writing, playing & performing. I never want this podcast to end. B... more
