  • Comprehensive knowledge !

We heard their podcast and decided to visit Feldberg+Todtnau (by public transport albiet) on our Black Forest trip in May and loved it.

Have listened to their podcast for notes on my earlier Germany trip too.

I can’t recommend this podcast highly enough. The depth and breadth of the insights and information, communicated in such an accessible and spacious way, is remarkable. I just feel bad for listening to it for free and would like to give back something, hence this review.

  • Best Resource for Germany Travel Planning

I have been reading a travel book from a well-known travel review company, scouring YouTube for trip planning advice, reading blogs for guidance on logistics and family-friendly tips. No other resource has been as instrumental in helping me make decisions about my family’s upcoming trip than Cate’s pod. Each episode is full of practical advice and rooted in lived experiences she and her husband have had throughout Germany. Small thing - I also appreciate how articulate and intentional Cate is wi... more

  • Wonderful advice!

Found this podcast a couple of weeks before leaving on a 10 day trip to Germany. I only wish I had found it earlier and used the travel planning feature. So much great advice and tips that I wouldn’t have found without this. Highly recommend spaghetti eis which was a wonderful unique highlight for us and for our kids. Also the DB pass was perfect for us and saved us so much money and the stress of constantly buying tickets at each station. Thank you so much!

Ep 51 | Honest Answers to Real Travel Questions & Challenges
Q: Arriving at Frankfurt Airport and picking up a car—what's a reasonable timing and what should you consider when planning car pickup after a flight?
Aim for a buffer; pick-up around 9:30 is usually fine after a 7:30 arrival, but early pickup can sometimes be allowed depending on the country and airport rules. Always inform the rental company of your flight details so delays are accommodated.
Ep 51 | Honest Answers to Real Travel Questions & Challenges
Q: They were flying into Munich in December and considering day trips to Rotenburg ob der Tauber, Regensburg, and Augsburg. Which is best depends on whether you have a car or will take the train, and on Christmas markets timing.
All three can work nicely as day trips, but Regensburg and Augsburg are easy by regional train from Munich and offer varied Christmas market experiences; Rotenburg is further and more time-consuming by train, so it's best if you don't mind a longer journey.
Ep 51 | Honest Answers to Real Travel Questions & Challenges
Q: One person was recently asking about doing a day trip to Neuschwanstein Castle from Munich. They will not have a car and they were wondering if they should take the train or the bus or if they should take a tour.
There isn't a single right answer; it depends on whether you want easy, guided ease or flexibility. Tours are convenient for a stress-free experience, while trains or buses offer flexibility and potential cost savings if you plan carefully with timing.
Ep 50 | How to Plan a Lisbon Stopover: Julie's Tips & Picks [Stopover Series]
Q: What foods should be at the top of a Lisbon list for a first-time visitor?
Must-tries include pastel de nata pastries, simple yet delicious seafood dishes, olives and local cheeses, and dishes like polvo à lagareiro (octopus with olive oil and potatoes), with plenty of opportunities for casual, flavorful meals.
Ep 50 | How to Plan a Lisbon Stopover: Julie's Tips & Picks [Stopover Series]
Q: What makes Lisbon a good base for a short stopover, and what neighborhoods do you recommend staying in?
Lisbon is walkable, central, and has diverse neighborhoods; Princip Real is a great base close to nightlife and with good transport, followed by Chiado and Baixa for easy access to sights and amenities.
