I have worked in the continuous improvement space for 15 years. There are many flavors of CI and how to use it it. The content on Gemba Academy and the content on the podcast hit the mark on what I believe is the best approach. Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

GA 637 | Developing Organizational Maturity with Norman Wolfe
Q: What do you see as the core reason organizations struggle with execution even when processes are in place?
The core issue is the underlying context—the beliefs, priorities, and relationships that shape how people interpret and act on processes. When leadership reframes the organization as a set of interacting collective persons, alignment emerges not just through better processes but through addressing these deeper contextual dynamics.
GA 634 | Doubling Profits in 90 Days with Ben Hansen
Q: Any final words of wisdom for listeners trying to implement these ideas?
Ben advocates for a simple, repeatable cadence like Money Mondays to keep profitability top of mind, plus using a concise, one-page P&L and the Profit Leakage Detector to identify and act on the biggest leaks quickly.
GA 634 | Doubling Profits in 90 Days with Ben Hansen
Q: What is Profititis and how does it relate to the profitability problem you address?
Profititis is the condition where revenue grows while profitability stalls; it occurs when growth outpaces leverage, quality, and targeted focus. The remedy involves shifting mindset to profitability, performing a triage to identify leaks, and applying the 50-20 rule to cut the worst performers.
GA 634 | Doubling Profits in 90 Days with Ben Hansen
Q: Did I get that right, and tell me more about your 90-day profit doubling claim.
Ben confirms the framework and explains the triage process, emphasizing three market buckets (above average, average, below average) and how they typically can double profitability in 90 to 180 days by removing bottom performers and reinvesting in the top performers.
GA 630 | Why Tone Matters with Shahab Shah
Q: Why is tone so important in leadership, and how does it show up day-to-day?
The host explains that tone reflects attitude, mindset, and leadership philosophy, shaping culture; Shahab provides examples where leadership tone dictated whether teams followed PM practices and Kaizen rituals, and emphasizes sustaining system-level changes through ongoing commitment rather than one-off efforts.
