  • Pandemic - off the rails

I love this podcast for its industry interviews and knowledge but it’s so dreadful listening to the same first 15-20 mins of every podcast listening to the host talk about how he’s “not political” but that we should be allowed to open up and the government is overstepping by telling us to quarantine / hunker down / whatever. We’re all frustrated, but people are dying, and letting us get back to concerts is unsafe. I know we don’t see eye to eye politically, and that hasn’t bothered me before, ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Coffee, Crew, & Conversation: The Geezers Grind Collaboration with Jamie Mardis & Courtney Klimson
Q: Where did the name 'Geezer's Grind' come from?
The name was inspired during a casual moment when the idea of a distinct, memorable brand for a coffee blend emerged, cemented by a long-running joke about a 'pool room cult' from the creator's daughter's college pool room stories; it stuck and resonated with the team.
Coffee, Crew, & Conversation: The Geezers Grind Collaboration with Jamie Mardis & Courtney Klimson
Q: First, Jamie, let's start with you. How did the coffee collaboration come about?
Jamie explains that his roadie background led to discovering the need for better coffee on tour, which inspired a custom Geezers Grind blend; collaboration with Sarah and the team felt like the right fit, and the project grew from a passion for supporting the industry.
Sound, Stage, and Success with Malcolm Weldon
Q: How did Roger Davies and Tina Turner change your life?
They gave me opportunities and believed in me when few others did, helping me land high-profile tours and evolve from a front-of-house role into long-term production leadership.
The Evolution of NAMM: From Rock Stars to Industry Professionals with John Mlynczak
Q: What does success look like for your show five to ten years from now?
Success for NAMM is measured by customer satisfaction, aiming for over 90% with a focus on delivering value and evolving based on attendee feedback.
FUTURETECH Featuring Gemini part of The Live Events Group - Gemini’s Golden Touch: Full-Service Production Powerhouse
Q: When do you rent and when do you buy?
If you need something for a one-off or a short tour, just rent it. If you're running a venue and need gear for every show, buying might make sense.
