  • Too much screaming at a mic

Good content but too much rage and ranting. Screams into the mic way too much. Shame they let Scott McArthur go

  • Dull

Pointless and meandering. Boring jock with an empty personality. Only reason to listen is for the informative James Mirtle segments, but if you’re expected to sit through hours of Scott Mac droning on to get there, you lost me.

Why has TSN snared one of their most knowledgeable analysts (Mirtle) to this random show? Give Mirtle a segment on Overdrive so we can actually hear him. No one wants this show. Literally no one is asking for Scott’s opinions.

    We can do better.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Game Play: June 22, 2026 - Hour 2
Q: Nick, how do you see Messi's form affecting Argentina's World Cup campaign and Ronaldo's place in the narrative?
Nick Miller discusses Messi's sustained impact at World Cup age and the evolving dynamics with Ronaldo, including leadership and national team identity.
Game Play: June 22, 2026 - Hour 2
Q: Dean, how does your dog feel about the move by Brady Tkachuk?
Dean Brown explains that Brady's move has personal resonance for his family and fans, but also notes the complexities of leadership and fan reaction in Ottawa.
Brown on what led to Brady Tkachuk’s departure in Ottawa, Steve Staios’ next move, and how player empowerment can affect small market teams.
Q: What were the main factors that led Brady Tkachuk to want a trade from Ottawa?
Dean explains that a combination of Brady's personal life, his affinity for playing with his brother, and the family's move to Florida, along with the boos he faced as an American, all contributed to his feeling it was time to move on, rather than a single incident.
Game Play: June 22, 2026 - Hour 1
Q: How different are the Florida Panthers going to feel in 2026-27 compared to last year?
George Richards explains that injuries derailed last season and that with Brady Tkachuk joining a core led by Barkov, the Panthers aim to rebound, regain momentum, and leverage mobility and depth to contend again, while acknowledging the leadership dynamics may shift without a traditional captain in the same way as before.
Lewenberg on Kawhi Leonard returning to Toronto, what he brings to the Raptors, and live reaction to the trade.
Q: From what you've heard, how real is the threat of another team trading for Kawhi without an extension, and would Toronto need to move quickly to secure a deal?
There is some perceived urgency because free agency opens soon, but the Raptors want to avoid rushing a deal without solid health clarity and an agreed extension framework, aiming for a balance between speed and due diligence.
