As a Bundesliga fan in America, there are not a lot of English speaking resources for us to interact with our favorite league. And this used to be a great way to do so, but I’m not sure what it is in the last year, but the quality of this podcast has decreased, and the bias and negativity has definitely increased. I do wish there were some more objective views on games and a bunch of different situations, it seems that it’s all now guided by Manu’s biases.
The hosts are knowledgeable and a lot of people like the show, but I just can’t anymore. They have certain agendas, players, and teams they like, and if you disagree with them they like to make you feel stupid, attack you, and then gaslight you when you call them out on it. While there is extra content if you pay for a subscription, the Substack community is not a welcoming space at all unless you subscribe to the cult of Manu, i.e., praise the teams and players he likes. Also, despite being ins... more
Finally! A football podcast that isn’t about the premiere league! Love your podcast. IMO, the Bundesliga is more interesting than the other leagues. People underestimate how good the teams are.
The review show is enjoyable but I feel the preview show can be a bit of a waste of time. It often devolves into the hosts going down the fixtures list and making predictions based solely on things like the home and away form of the teams in question. There is rarely any insight into the tactical battles of the upcoming games or using any underlying stats (other than xG) to tell stories about what we can expect. The Lars Resort podcast which previews the upcoming EPL games is a good example of h... more

A lively English-language Bundesliga-focused show that blends tactical analysis, match previews, and club narratives with on-site reporting and fan culture. Episodes frequently cover big Bundesliga storylines (title contenders, relegation battles, and transfer chatter), plus national-team chatter and cross-league context. The hosts mix accessible banter with insight, delivering a casual but informed vibe that fans appreciate for contextual depth without getting lost in stats. Noteworthy is the mix of on-location reporting, historical anecdotes, and occasional guest-style discussions, creating a well-rounded picture of German football across the season. Potential listeners should expect thoughtful analysis, broad club coverage, and a clear p... more
