We just listened to the ‘Mean Girls’ episode and enjoyed the deeper dive past some of the light comedy moments into real life problems that young adults go through every day - to include bullying, body issues and making friends in new places. Dr. Fran and Dr. Sam are easy to listen to and have a great repoire. All in all super enjoyable and will continue to listen!
This podcast addresses important themes of mental health representation and de-stigmatization in the media through in-depth analyses in a clear and expert manner. All the while, Dr. Sam and Dr. Fran come across as so relatable, and the subject matter (movies and TV shows) is fun to hear about!
Finally a podcast that dives deeper into the psychology of movies and television while also making you feel like you’re chatting with your girlfriends about key mental issues highlighted on screens. 10/10 recommend.
As someone who loves Psychology AND film/tv, I was so excited to hear about this podcast! Dr. Fran and Dr. Sam dig into how psychology and therapy are portrayed in such a fun and engaging way! But you don’t have to have any degree in psychology to follow along because they describe in interesting ways everything they talk about. I look forward to more episodes! :)
It’s so interesting to hear about psychology in media! They break down characters and disorders and therapy in a way that makes sense to a non-psych person and makes watching movies way more fun!!!
